Decided to hit the sack early last night and try a trip to the Berry today. Should have slept in! We motored back to Renegade on the sleds, started off over by the Meadows, not many fish, so we moved over by the narrows, not many fish, so we moved over to a place my uncle calls “3 rocks”, not many fish, then we headed back over by Renegade Marina, not many fish. We did manage a few for the day, but it was pretty dang slow! I’m gonna blame the full moon for our lack of success.
Didn’t see anyone try to cross the bay on machines just yet…might need another week to do that. The road back to Renegade sucks big time! The really need some more snow, and some groomers! The washboard is harsh! Really beat us up.
Beautiful day on the lake today but the catching was a bit slow! We fished near the marina on 4 inches of ice. 6 degree’s upon arrival and 26 at departure. Lots of sunshine and only a little w… Fished with new BFT members showman and habs fan as well as a friend and my two kids. We fished in 30 feet all day and had fish coming through very consistantly but very little action. They would come in for a look and then take off. The ones that did hit liked it dead sticked and jigging seemed to freek them out. We iced about 15 fish between the 4 of us in about 5 hours of fishing (the kids sledded more than fished). One fish over the slot. I tried about every jig and ice fly I owned and different baits as well with very little success. It was nice fishing with two rods so i could try different jigs but it didn’t seem to help much. Usually this time of year they are putting on the feed bag and are agressive and hungry. There must be plenty of food down there cause they have lock jaw. Hope it improves or it could be a long winter.
Nice report. I’ll agree on the full moon thing. Curiously, on full moon fishing days, we’ve either done VERY poorly, or VERY good! Usually very poorly however!

it was way slow… my boy picked up 3 about 18 19 range, and i caught 10 or so. 1 good rainbow. in all a group of 6 caught maybe 16. nice meeting some of you guys this mourning.
**Silly Bee, you needed me to guide you. Like Hells, I went walkabout. The walk back to my truck took 35 mins and I was moving at a good clip. I had doubles a couple of times, but couldn’t land both together(I left my other set of hands at home). I almost Jeffed my age if can believe that(at least your age). 1 20" bowcepheus and a 22" cutthroatsaurus were the big’uns. I learned not horse big fish the wrong way, unfortunately it took me three times to figure that one out.
All in all, it was the highest ratio I had all season. I would of had more if a couple of groups of idiots didn’t out and crowd me .

Although it was slow especially for ice on, it was great being out there with you and the others. We’ll just have to smack them hard next time to make up for it.
I was on the ice about 6:30 a m in the 2nd bay west of the marina. Ice ranged between 4-6 inches. Very slow day. Four of us with 2 poles each only iced about 8 fish between 17-18 inches. Just before we left at 2pm I did catch a 22 incher, what a fighter, and took out some line before iceing it. Even though it was slow it was a great day to be on the ice.
Yeah, it was kind of slow for me as well. I only got into a few fish - none over the slot. I saw more on the sonar travel by, but they just had little interest in what was in my tackle box or what I sweetened the offering with. I also did the 2 pole thing, but it didn’t help too much - even changing up the presentations made no difference.
I couldn’t move around as much as I wanted because of the pain from my separated shoulder from drilling just a couple of holes. After drilling for about 10 minutes, I met a really nice person that brought his power auger over to help, but it wouldn’t start. Then he helped me drill another one with my hand auger and that got me going.
But, what a beautiful day out on the ice. Couldn’t hardley ask for more (ok a few more fish would have been nice) in the way of great conditions for an ice outing.
Seemed to be slow all over the lake. I fished mud creek in about 25’. Iced 7 lost 3. My buddy in the same hut as me only caught 1. All my hits were when the jig had been sitting for a few minutes.
