Late Berry Report

Fished the Berry on Saturday 2-17-07. Fishing was very slow for us we got there about 9 and spent probably an hour trying to get one of our sleds running after the choke handle on it broke. We finally got it by pulling the choke out with a pair of pliers. We hit the ice and were set up and fishing by 10:30 we fished the area between Haws Point and Renegade between 24 and 30 feet of water. My dad caught one and lost one about half way up the one he caught was only 18" and he missed about half a dozen more. I had two hits but could get nothing to take my bait. We tried everything we had we even brought up some minnows to try.

Sounds like the fish were there, just not willing to come out into the cold air. Do you think time of day has much to do with it? I wonder if early morning is still best. Anyway, I want to go on Saturday and was wondering if ATV’s can still travel on the lake. How much snow is on top of the ice? Thanks for the post and keep trying. You know the Berry, on one day and off the next.

Fished Mud Creek last Tuesday the 20th and did ok. Was there from 10-3 and caught 9, lost that many at the hole. Fished in 19’ of water at first, caught a couple on that depth. Moved around a bit until I settled on 26’ of water. Saw the most fish between 1-3, but could only get some of them to bite.

Really curious as to where the bows are hanging out. We found plenty of cut’s all in the slot; surprize :astonished:

We fished CCE & out from the latters. It was not hot & heavy, but one of the nicest days as far as weather.
