hey guys..and girls,is the mirror lake highway gate still open? if not does anyone know how much snow is on the road? hoping to get up there tomorrow. and info is greatly appreciated and i will report if we can get up there.
The gate is closed now. I live on highway 150 out of e-town.
would you assume there is enough snow right now for the snow machines? or should we wait for the next storm? thanks in advance
I drove to the gate today and there looked to be plenty of snow for machines…but the gate is a good 30+ miles from mirror lake…that is if my google map mileage is correct.
Edit-- that is the gate out of Kamas…just to clarify

Well be sure to check the utahavalanche.org site before you go out there Kochanut. Things are pretty dangerous on the North and East Facing slopes out there right now. Usually you will get into trouble where ever the snow pack is riding worthy. Typical of early season in Utah!
Who knows if you are a Backcountry rider I just might run into you out there? You cannot miss the Tye Dye outfit amongst the white snow!

I will be looking for it. I don’t ski the Uinta’s till the highway opens up in late may. I don’t have a snowmobile so that place is hard to get around without one. Atleast then I will be around for ice off and some early morning ski turns.
The oquirrhs range is a great one to get away from the crowds! The wasatch is too crowded and the helicopter skiers drive me crazy!
