Echo 10/6/2026

Fished Echo today with my grandson. Arrived at 8AM and fish until 11AM.

There was still enough ramp to launch with no problems. The wedge dock is still in the water. Water temp was 61 degrees at launch and 64 when we left. We fished by the dam with small jigs tipped with a small amount of worm. We were targeting perch and bass. We never kept count of all the perch and bass that we caught. We didn’t keep any fish today most everything we caught was small around 9 inches. The bass were easier to catch because they hit harder and the perch were really light hitting. Fun day with my grandson and think we are going to hit Strawberry on our next trip.

I guess we saw you out there today, we were the first ones on the lake, launching around 7:30 and that wake boarder boat come out just after us. We trolled all the way from the launch to the dam and picked up 8 SM bass up to 12". We were using trout gear but only caught one trout. we also caught around 25 perch, with the largest being over 13", our largest one ever at Echo but we caught most of them toward the back in 20 FOW jigging. Nice day out there today. We were in that black Lowe, what kind of boat were you in?

That’s a great perch. My brother caught a couple of those toads earlier this year from the bank. Hopefully we’ll have good ice this year.

Yes, that’s exactly what we were thinking, hoping for good ice. Here is a few more pics to show the conditions there.

Yes, that was us right next to the dam and you guys were west of us most of the day until you went around us. One of you waved when you went around us, was that you or where you in the front of the boat. I was the one who waved back. We were trying for perch and caught quite a few but threw them all back. We never caught anything over 8 or 9 inches. All the bass we caught were all about the same size too.

By the time you saw us we had made it all the way around the lake. We were just getting ready to head to the back of the lake to try jigging for the perch when one of my main batteries died and I had to switch over to my second battery. Then I went to the front of the boat to pull up my electric trolling motor but that was the only time I was in the front of the boat. When we got up to the dam that second time, there was three boats there, one left just before we got there and the second boat started leaving just as we got there. Were you the last boat there or the one on the north side by the old road?
