BROWN AT THE "VIEW"

Ventured to Pineview this am. As far as I know, I was first one on the ice. Hiked in with my miners lamp. Fished about 800 yards north of the parking lot. Got into some perch and crappied early. By 8:15 had close to 10 no size to any of them. Thought that it was going to be a good day, and it was!! About 8:30 am landed a 20 inch brown, never caught a trout out of Pineview. Small size perch the rest of the day. Met up with some friends about 8:30 and they got into perch as well, after while the bite was real light. Afternoon was not very good. All lost a lot of bites, but the Brown made it worth it. Was fishing off the bottom with waxies.

Sounds like a good day out. Seems you’ve had a few at PV. How was it getting through the new snow?

We made it there Sat, and had a good day, slow by some reports, but we had fun. Didn’t find the perch schools - more searching required.

So you started at Browning? We ended up at Port Ramp and found Crappie off the docks. Was hoping to find Perch out in the middle, coulda been the time of day. On to next time!

That’s a big brown alright! Have heard there’s some trout out there, but don’t hear it often. Nice one - they do put up a fight!

About 14 inchesw of fresh snow. I was actually south of Browning point. It was tent city over at Browning. A lot of people out.
