We hit the Berry agian this week-end. My self and my son who just recently returned from an LDS mission from Harrisburg PA. went to the Berry on Friday It was -17 degrees. That is correct, below zero. He sure didnt forget how to catch fish we caught 21 fish 1 over the slot. All cuts and no bows. We took the snowbiles across the lake to our “lucky spot”. There was no slush monster to be seen. There was 6-8 inches or so of fresh snow on the ice. We had no problems with the conditions. The ice is over 20inches thick. We used radical glow in pink and chartruse tipped with a mealworm. It was great to sit in the tent and catch up on what has been going on in both our lives. Trying to get back up again before ice off.

Hey Kokanee, Glad you got a chance to get out with your son. We drove past the berry looking for some soft water out near Starvation. It was cold (no where near -17) and the wind annoying. Fishing was slooo. You guys made the better choice.
