Hit painted rocks at first light fished in 24 feet water on the boat ramp side of the island. Got limit in 1 hour had about 3 really huge perch 1 12 inch and 2 11 inches the rest were 8 to 9 inches. They were pretty aggressive biters today. It was a long drive but fish_fear_me2 and I had a great time fishing even if it was only 1 hour.
Good to hear you had a fun experience. I’m half tempted to go up there tomorrow… weather.com seems to think nephi’s weather isn’t going to be all that bad. Cold, but not snowy.
Thanks, you should go we had some snow today but the fishing was still great. It is worth the drive I can’t wait to go back.

IMO that’s what sucks about Yuba, you can spend more time getting there than actually fishing.

Thanks for the report. The fishing has been really good at Yuba this season. Did the fish cop do a creel survey on you today? Also, please take and post pictures. They make all the difference.
Nope didn’t see a fish cop at all. Had 2 other groups of people and 1 came out as we were leaving.
I’m glad you had a good time and caught your limit! No way am I driving that far just to catch 10 perch though- I can catch perch at Hyrum or Mantua anytime : )

I would post some pictures if I had them stupid me left the camera at home the one time it really matter to take it I can’t believe I did that. I will hang a post it on the door to remind me to take it from now on.
Arrived at Painted Rocks today about 10:45. Had a few kids with us that have never fished, and one blind friend. Had the two ice shacks next two each other at the island. Got our 40 in a bit over an hour. Little #6 ratfinkee tipped with crawler. I spent most of the time helping the kids in my shack. Heaters kept it warm and the kids had a great time. I think I had more fun helping them than when I fish myself. Fishing was so fast, we had the lunch we brought on the way home. Take the kids if you can. Fishing is fast enough they can’t get bored. [:)]
I don’t like the drive down there just for 10 fish. But when I fish other holes down south, it is worth stopping and picking up dinner.
