Naw, but would like to go soon. Have time this week due to shift changes so would like to get out for a little ice fun. Thinking thursday for now.

wagdog and I were there on Thursday afternoon. The ice right next to the pumphouse was only about 5-7 inches. It was very wet and slushy. From 15 feet out and towards the gates, the ice looked good still.

The catching was slow and small…gills, crappie, and perch. There were a few people fishing in the channel and it looked like they only had fair success as well.

Wear waterproof boots or bring a board to get past the edges. I got water up past my ankles when we were leaving last Thursday. I’m hoping the colder temps will start to firm up the slush. I think you’ll catch some but as dr. veha said, they will prolly be on the small side. That’s ok though. The small ones taste better.

I fished there last night and only caught one little dinky BG. There were fish getting caught in the middle but not so good right next to the house. The water dripping off from the roof has made the wall pretty unsafe looking. There are little holes that have been made all along the wall from the constant dripping yesterday.

The rest of the ice seemed ok besides all the swiss cheese holes. I wore waders and was fine.

I might add that I probably wont fish the pumphouse anymore I thought it sucked pretty bad[:(] Might have been just a bad day so who knows?

Yeah, I second the posts here. The Ice is bad bad bad. It has hundreds of holes ragning from 7" to 3’ in it. I hope those big ones don’t cap and stay visable so someone doesn’t take a swim. The wall area is unsafe…less than an inch of slush in most places, you can’t fish next to the wall at all, and that is some of the better fishing in my opnion. I think the fishing is better in other areas and is spotty at best there. There are much better waters to hit than the pumphouse.
