I seem to recall that there was some mention of looking for volunteers, but no details.
I will contact Reed again and ask if they have any kind of volunteer plan and where to sign up.
In the meantime, every carp we remove on our own…by any means…is one less carp in the biomass. And any we can remove before they spawn in the spring is potentially thousands of others in the future.

**On my part, I will continue my ongoing diagnostic and treatment sessions on all carpkind. As in the past, these will include: gillectomies, radical carpatotomies, carp tunnel syndrome treatments, precarpal lobotomies, carposection removal of internal organs, etc. **

Hope it works. I have seen the comeercial guys doing about the same thing probably on a smaller scale for years. I have even seen them fish through the ice in a way similar to what was shown on the clip. The carp population thumbed its nose at the efforts. Would be great to see the carp population seriously dented. Thanks TD for the info.
very intersting Pat, thanks for posting. I was out at the beach 2 weeks ago and was talking to a few asians and they said their was a monster walleye caught in one of the nets, close to 20lbs. they said. any word on this ??

I agree, I think that it will still be hard to make a significant change until they June suckers are gone and they can plant a lot of predators. The Loys can fish during daylight but Walleye/Pike/LM/Whitebass, would do it day and night. Its a tough deal with the Junies in there.

Do you honestly believe Utah Lake is lacking in predators and that more need to be planted?
