Hello!

I want to take my two little boys (age 3 & 6) to Utah Lake tomorrow night to catch anything - white bass, catfish, whatever.

We’ll be fishing from shore. Is there anywhere on the lake that you’d recommend for some faster fishing?

anywhere along the reeds. i would suggest a smallish ( size 8 or so ) hook tipped with a crawler below a bobber.. then use a piece of white bass meat once you get a white bass. just fillet the white bass and cut into small strips leaving the skin on. cast the bobber as close as you possibly can without getting hung up. i also found some crawfish smelly jelly works great if they arent biting on the crawler. just my 2 cents

I haven’t been to UL in awhile. Which harbors have reeds? Does that day-use area just west of Geneva have reeds?

i think you are talkin about Lindon boat harbor. that one does have reeds, i havent been there this year but last year the water was fairly high and was easily fishable. its $10 for the day since its a private harbor.

Lindon on the north side is a good choice. Cast small plastics for White bass or under the bobber method above. They should be on the North arm near battle creek (hard to see, but its there). The cats are all over on that north arm and outside and they can usually be found inside, but the boats will mess with them if there are a ton. White bass meat under a bobber should do the trick. The entry fee is $5 and they have just redone it and it now has a nice store (Site Below).

i would suggest utah lake state park where the provo river runs out into the lake. this time of year they tend to school up in the mouth in the evenings throughout the morning. use spinners, small jigs or just sink it. but bring a lot of BUG SPRAY it gets ridiculous

May be too late to help, if you’ve already gone and filled your basket. Haven’t fished UL myself, but seen some encouraging stories, photos.

Here’s a couple maps that’s been labelled up. Might help. Let us know how you did - hope the boys hooked into some fun tugs.

How big do the White bass get? There more the size of smallies, and largemouths, no? Not like a stiped bass, or wiper…
