Saturday Morning is going to be a fishing trip probably to Deer Creek for proximity.
My daughter caught the fishing bug after reeling some of those Pike down at Yuba.
I’d like to follow that up with a trip for some decent trout and maybe a few perch up at Deer Creek.
Because I will be with a couple newbies, it’ll be easier for us to troll this trip… maybe try some jigging for Bass toward the end to add some variety.
Any tips on what the fish are hitting up there?
We could continue up the road to Strawberry or Jordanelle, but we have to be back in the valley by 1PM, so I’d rather stay closer – if we will catch fish.
sounds like fun, im heading either near the island saturday morning in my tube or to echo for some perch, cant really decide yet. But deer creek has extra incentive to catch an eye. if im getting into some perch at deer creek feel free to fish by me, ill be in a blue and orange float tube with a guy in a dark green and orange tube.

Just got back an hour ago. Caught two trolling a rainbow rapala tipped with worm But took 2 hours. so got out the Power bait poles at the rocky point South at Rainbow bay and caught two Rainbow on Rainbow/ Garlic PB in ten minutes. The wind let up at about 6pm and the bit was off.
