Went to the berry with a co-worker for a quick fishing trip before the Super Bowl. Arrived at 6:15am and began the 30 minute walk out to the camp grounds. It ended up taking 40 minutes because my GPS could not find the satellites and I can’t see too well in the dark, finally after we where 3/4 the way out there the satellites where picked up and we ended up making a big loop over to our area instead of a straight line from the boat ramp. Dropped our lines in about 7:15am. The bite was never fast and furious but it was steady until we left at 12:30. Ended up icing at least 20. Two where just over 21" couldn’t hook up with any thing that was over the slot.
Nice day today. Air temperature at 6:00am was 13* and 26* when we left. No wind today and very few people fishing. The conditions where good for the walk over only noticed 1 slushy area. If you stayed on a snowmobile path the snow was solid if you got off the path there was about 5" of snow.
