Hit Scofield yesterday and did alright for chubs and small cutthroats and 'bows. Fished with 2 inch tube jigs and curly-tail jigs tipped with about half a nightcrawler. Usually i use a smaller piece, but they wanted more of an offering. The chubs would come through in waves and we were surprised at how big some of them were…10+ inches and fat. We were in about twenty feet of water or so. Weather was fantastic.
Thanks for the report and welcome aboard.
Where were you on the lake, I wouldn’t mind getting some chubs for bait.
We were in about 20 ft of water west of the dam, about where that arm hits the main reservoir. Good luck!
Nice report. You should try hacking one of those chubs up next time and tip your jig with a piece. Seems to work a little better than worms (crawlers, waxies, mealies) in my experience.
I will definitely try that next time. Some of the chubs were only about 3 inches long. I thought about sticking a hook through its head and dropping it back down the hole.
