Anybody heard if hiway 65 from Little Dell to East Canyon is open yet???
I don’t think so…They don’t plow that road but I wish they would an soon…

The bypass road? Do you mean the one that comes out of Jeremy Ranch? Yeah I’ve been through there in the winter, but I don’t want to tow a boat down it. Is there another one? [crazy]
Thats the one! We drove it a few weeks ago, and it was pretty rough.
Usually it is not in tell Memorial Day weekend when they open the road over big mountain pass. The east canyon rd, through Jeremy Ranch (a.k.a. Mormon Flats) wasn’t looking all that great a couple weeks ago. But depending on the boat, you could take it on the road. A little 16 footer aluminum would be fine, but it would be slow going.
The earliest I have seen big mountain pass open is the weekend before Memorial Day so it could be sooner.
One thing for curtain it wasn’t open last night when I went up that way.

i heard there is still three or four feet of snow at the gate.
If you really want to go to East Canyon, go up through Morgan.
It is a real easy pull, up 89 to I-85, easy climb up the canyon, easy pull to the lake.
It takes a little longer, but uses less gas.
When the road opens I come back down by going over big mountain, but I always go up the back way.
Ditto … For both going and coming back.
With all the snow we’ve had this year, I would expect at least another week or so before the Mountain road is open. But who knows, maybe someone will get ambitious.
Going up through Morgan is luisurely compared to Big Mt. The Spincter factor can climb fast when you meet another big rig in the switchbacks with 5 bicyclists along side you. The backside into East is not the smoothest either.
I like the long way, but I’m a take the long way kind of guy.
My preference is to take I-84 to Henefer and then up to East Canyon. Once you drop off Hogs Back Ridge you can either go west to the campground/boatramp or east towards the resort.
The road is suposed to be open by mothers day
according to DNR website look under currant conditions
and pick the state park.some parks update more frequent and theres alot of great info there. docks in ,
