Got in a short trip this morning from a little after 9:30 til noon when that stinkin' wind decided to kick up again. My trolling motor battery died around 11:00 so I knew I probably wouldn't be out there long anyway. That's what happens when you're trying to push a small barge around from previous trips. I've got to get a smaller fishin' boat - soon ! I didn't really have a plan and started out bass fishing but man I just can't figure out where they are and what they are doing ? I know they didn't want to eat anything that I had to offer. I tried a little crappie fishing where I was bass fishing and caught a nice 1.6 lb. fish under a ball of shad on a tube minnow in over 25 ft. of water. I picked up a smaller one in about 10 ft. but that was it. I think I have a new "plan" and that's to concentrate on crappie over the next few days. Some of these latest reports are giving me the urge again. Water temp was 69 degrees and I'm thinking the next few days should be pretty good especially if the wind dies down a little.
