What ? A few clouds…and no wind this morning ? Alright ! I've been waiting for a day like this to go out for awhile. I wanted to go to Wolftever but I knew it was out of the question so I fished some areas around Harrison Bay. The water is up and warming back up…61-62 degrees. I fished from 9:30 until 1:00 and caught most of my fish in about a 45 minute span in the same place. I was sitting in about 20 ft. of water catching a variety of fish in about 3-5 ft. around some fallen trees next to a point. It started with a small crappie then a channel cat, a little smallie, then some larger crappie. They were mostly hitting jigs on a float about as soon as I would start reeling it in. It was fun while it lasted then it seemed to quit after the sun popped out and the wind picked up. Total was 8 crappie, one smallie, one channel, two yellow bass. I used some of my new BG jigs that I've added to my crappie arsenal and caught my large crappie of the day (1.9 lbs.) on a Mo Glo scent wiggl'r - a "Blue Ghost".<br /><br />I finally got me an old "small" bass boat to fish out of instead of my pontoon which is almost impossible to fish out of sometimes. The pontoon is very comfortable - but not very practical for bass and crappie fishing. I'm hoping to get it in the water sometime early next week and start fishing Wolftever for starters once it clears up. All I need is the "butt" seat and the foot control trolling motor up front and I'll be a happy camper. I'm sure Debbie is going to miss the enclosed porta-potty when she's out with me though. I guess we'll be leaving the coffee at home.emoPoke
