Does anyone have any information on the mirror lake highway and the access to the lakes on the south slope. Trial lake, lily lake and the others. Ice conditions, road access, fishing conditions, what ever you think could be useful thanks ahead of time
I’ve heard the Christmas Meadows area is ice free now, but I’d bet Mirror Lake Highway is still snowed in.
If you got to UDOT’s website you will find a listing of road closure/opening dates. I believe for Mirror Lake Highway 150 the opening date is May 23. I don’t know how far you will be able to go though, they probably wont clean it good until the end of the month or the beginningof June.
just looked at snotel trial lake still has 33 inches of snow according to it.
I just checked with UDOT, and they claim the highway will not be open until the second week of June.
Like I said in my previous post, they will probably open the gate by the 23rd, but who knows when it will all be clean.
You can usually drive up a bit, but the plows have trouble pushing uneven drifts and deep hard snow. It doesn’t suprise me that it won’t be until the middle of June. Thanks for confirming that.
