Me and my little bro took the ol ladys out today for the first time [crazy] i know.. and of course yes we were late and as you all know it wasnt the guys fault 
anyways we meet up with a fellow BFT cvfisher, very nice gentelman.. if your reading this cvfisher
thanks for meeting up with us we had a great time. i caught 3 the ol lady caught 2 and of course my little brother didnt catch nothing ha ha ha.. story of his life. cvfisher caught about 12 so we iced about 18 and missed a ton of bites. all in all we had a blast, better than any day at work ive ever had 
Nice job. How were the esges coming off? It was a nice day, just wish it would have stayed a little cooler. Taking a buddy of mine from Florida, who has never been on the ice, out to Hyrum tomorrow.
the edges were good and safe, the ice is still snow free and slick as snot. fishing was ok, we caught 18 the people fishing 50 feet away from us caught 14 and wow they caught all them 14 in like a hour ha ha made us look bad [:p]. anyways hope your florida buddy has a heck of a time.
Edges were fine today but it sure did crack and groan a lot. Seen lots of people catching fish but I got skunked again. Nephews got 4 or 5. I had a nice one, bigger than the 10 to 12 inchers at the hole but lost it. You should have a fun day. Hope you do better than I did but most everybody does. Good luck. J

Glad you got some happy bites, enuf to entertain (but where are the perch!). Sorry, but makes me chuckle - all the reports of “we gone one” - but no one says what flavor! Assumed to be finless freddies no doubt! Me - I likes to target the panfish, trout tend to be a by-product!
BUT I’ll tell you this - after that lunker chased my jig UP the hole! I’m throwing down some minnows to catch onto them bigguns! Fish that MEAN business! I want them greedy sons of beaches to chase me to the hole! Yeah Man! Nothing like having a BIG trout stick it’s nose up your ice-hole! Get the juices flowing - all I can say!
Now if ONLY I could catch a perch - get a fresh ‘eye’ to work with!

Hey we were nice enough to let HIM on board[;)]. I think he just invited us so that we could net his fish for him. That and he likes an audience for when he gets a big one[;)].
I took my two young boys to Hyrum today. We caught a couple dinker rainbows. Sounds like we were doing something wrong compared to the rest of you. Any suggestions on bait? We were using white and pinkish colored jigs tipped with meal worms.
dont feel bad that you got skunked buddy, so did my lil brother and his fiance, and they were actually trying to catch fish today ha ha.. he hooked into a good one in about 40 som od feet right off the bottom and it was funny as hell it must have been a big fish he pulled up set hook and started reeling and the fish was takeing the drag faster than he could reel it up finally he got the drag set, so he thought just right with the pole bending in half and inching it up his line broke and we never got to see the fish 
oh well thats why they call it fishing and not catching

we fished a couple hundred yards east of the southwest corner of the dam. We fished at all depths from 15 ’ to 40’. I used a white “Tube Dude Special” with a meal worm. Fish were caught all throughout the water column all day.

Well I have a small rapala lure of yours that stuck to my jacket the 1st time at Bear Lake. So when is our “hostage” exchange going to take place? I think it is your turn to come south as we keep heading north. You ever think about Pineview?

You keep the rapala and I will keep the tubedude and we call it even. I think i will come down there and you can pull me in a sled into the lake you guys hit on New Years day I could use me some good brookies.
We were on the east end I hiked across to the south side by the open water. Only had one hit up there but a group just north of us were really hauling them in. Then went further east by the masses and the boys caught their fish. Probably about 200 yards off the east shore seemed to be the zone that most of the people I could see catching fish were at. Heck - I’d take ya up on THAT offer! Willard makes ME want to change my handle to SKUNKED AGAIN AND AGAIN. I’ve caught a fish different fish down there, but I’m far from “knowing” that lake!
Sure was hoping to get on som boil-action this year. I mean last year, AND this year! Thinks I need to “spend more time on the water”.
And then there’s the Walleye…
Hopefully be able to track down the perch later this week, or next weekend. I think I’m still just getting started with Hyrum this year! Best is yet to come (or so I’ll tell myself)
