no ice what so ever any where on the lake.. boat ramp has no snow ether.. no ice on cleveland or E-lake.. fairview lakes are looking sad too..

i said fairview lakes are looking sad.. it’s still frozen solid tho.. don’t know how the ice is tho.. the road is still open to the lake seen some trucks down in there did not see anyone fishing or any holes in the ice with the scop from the top of the hill..

no i was sick most of last week.. feeling much better so i’m planing on heading up today or tomorow and checking out how the ice is.. i have been keeping a eye on the wether station up by the lake and the temps have not been as cold as they should be to make ice and along with a non stop wind not looking so good yet..

There were still open spots at Huntington as of Saturday PM (11/19), but most of the shoreline is iced up. My best guess is it is about 70-75% capped.

I got reports of people fishing off the dam already. 3.5 inches of hard clear ice.
well i just got back for up there.. me and my boy jonny went up to check it out.. i had to wait for him to get done with some school stuff first then we got going.. got there about 1:00 and fished for about 40 min’s or so.. we caught 3 fish and missed about 6 hit’s.. ice is real if’y.. about 3 inchs of not so hard ice with a crust of about 1 inch on top.. i did not like it one bit so did not stay long.. the ice was saging about a inch with just me on it.. but i did get the ice fishing jones out of me for now.. getting excited for it get going full swing…

Thanks for the update. That ice does look a little sketchy. We need a good cold snap to get things in full swing on the higher elevation lakes.
That was me you went past on your way out. You two scared me as far as you were going. Ice isn’t thick enough for me to wander around much.
I fished from 10 till 1 caught 25+ fish. About 1/3 of them were 8" or so dinks.
Largest was about 15"-16".
Caught most of them on silver and blue kastmaster tipped with worm. Caught about 1/3 of them on red and white tube tipped with worm also. Meal worms did not work very well. Only a couple on them.
The fish took a lot better for me if I was jigging. (I look pretty funny out there on the ice doing the jig but whatever works to catch em.)
lol yeah if i had checked the ice before walking out there i would not have even went as far as i did.. it was realy scatchy out there..lol the snow and warmer temps have not helped the ice up there..
i will not be trying again tell after turky day.. maybe even longer if it dont cool off up there a little more.. [sly]

I was going to say that you looked a lot like fuzzyfisher from BFT (should’ve) but I was mainly concerned about getting my lab off you 
Now that I know what the real fuzzyfisher looks like I’ll be sure to say hello (hopefully with a little less lab).
Anyways, I got there around 8am and the ice was iffy then too. But as the day progressed it got really slushy and actually started to resemble the dream I had that woke me up this morning of falling through the ice. I’m surprised I still went on it after that dream! I only iced 7. But it was still fun.

yeah next time a little less lab.. lol.. i just did not want him to get hooked or pee on my slead like it looked like he wanted too..lol
we got hit good the little we fished.. but i know when the ice is crapy and that ice was crapy.. 3 or 4 days it should be better.
we were useing tubes tipped with minnows.. some realy small minnows. wish i would have found the area i got them from eary’er then a week ago i would have filled the frezer with them.. as it is i only got 4 bags of them.
well next time if the ice is good come on over and say hi!!
Yeah he’s a new to me pup (only had him for a week). He doesn’t listen so well yet. I would have definitely said hi if I’d of trusted that ice more. It was pretty sketchy by that time. And you, your son, my dog, and me, plus our stuff may have been a little much for that slushy stuff.

Looks like there was an un-official BFT meeting out there at Huntington! Sounds like the ice was scary. I am a wussy but the pics looked like it was as thick as the imagination could go. I am jonesing for some ice real bad! The days are going slower as we get closer. I might have to break my 5 to 6 inch ice minimum this year!
