We headed up to the Berry this Morning for some fun in the sun, but what we got was a little wind and clouds and cold…
The temp. was 27* at first light and didn’t get any better with the breeze we had and the clouds that would come and go off and on all day..
We started getting fish right of Blake got on the board first… We had to hunt to find them, they have moved out of the skinny water and are in water from 15’ to 20’+ we used LC pointers in 78 and 100 to get all the fish…
We ran in to two BFT’ers at the ramp that had two nice cuts over 22" , I will let them tell what they did but they did not have a camera so I took a picture of them to post..
We ended the day with 26 fish biggest at around 22" we caught 1 koke and 3 or 4 bows and the rest was cuts we left the water about 3:15 or so it was a fun but a berry day…
Thanks for the report, sounds like you did pretty well. I’ll be heading up early tomorrow morning with three others, so hopefully we’ll do well. We’ll be throwing out LC pointers, rapalas, tube jigs, and worms, so I’ll bring back a report.
Sounds like you guys had a great time except for the cold. How did you catch the coke ? I prefer pepsi myself so i woulda released it! [:p] Really how did you catch the koke were you fishing for cutts?
Thanks for the info. I’m heading up there tomorrow. Sounds like i’ll try the Rapalas and the LC’s. Did you try any jigging? Normally @ the Berry, I’ve caught the most on white jigs.
were you fishing from a boat? If so were did you launch? did you need chains? Any info on best place to launch with snow on the ground would be greatly appreciated.
