FLY SWAP

DEAL WITH IT! LMAO

I will put yours on threaders, he he he

Its tough enough tying one that small onto the tippet.. how in the heck do ya’ll tie a fly on a hook that small.. Id go crosseyed just trying…

**:face_with_tongue:I’ll drink to that macfly55. Particularily when the sun is real bright - I can’t even see the tippet. If wasn’t for threaders, be it store bought or dental floss threaders I would be back to square one. I even have some regular sewing needle threaders which cost about 2 bits which works just as well. **

I got this wire spool from the armature(m/s) of a small tool. The wire is real thin and I make my own threaders. Small enough to pass it through twice on a 30, but strong. Really cool and CHEAP!

Gots to love the cheap part…but to be honest.. I had not thought of the alternatives in the last two posts…[;)]

Ok, i’ll tell him to post on this thread.

I am thinking a Churchill flash wing emerger size 22 or 24. Then one of the following - Johnny Flash, rojo midge, yong special, or chartruese/black jujubee

Got and strong preference there?

SWEET! any of the above, I am sure, will be appreciated

lunkerhunter2,

Nice looking commuter vehicle in your avatar.

Thanks. I like it too. Gas is killing me though! [;)]

Well lunkerhunter2,

Inspite of the fuel mileage, you gotta love those recreational ATVs for getting around the little potholes and dirt roads in Utah. :sunglasses:

Quick questions though, I don’t see anyplace for a hound or two ? Don’t you bring any along ? [unsure]

**I know some folks that have one that they use for a motor home. They said that when they were pulled over by a motorcycle cop he was distrubed because he couldn’t put his foot on the running board. Ah yes I remember running boards. My first car had one. Don’t think that it is running any more[;)]
**

They still make them DryRod. I have had them on everyone of my vehicles. My Bronco II with 33" tires and a lift kit, on my full sized Blazer with 35" tire and a lift kit. Then on my Suzuki (which I did take them off for the summer so I could go off road) No lift kit on it. But I still have them. Only now they are called “Ground Effects”

The mother of a high school friend was about 5’ 2", sold Mary Kay cosmetics. She said when she was in her twenties she drove a motor cycle with a suicide clutch. When she came up to a stop sign or a red light she had to find a car with a running board.

Her feet would not reach the ground.

[:)]Everything I ever owned had a Running board. Right up till I got the first Kid. She wanted a little more modern car. My 33 Plymouth was good looking but not something she could brag about.
Poor Disturbed women!
Boy do I wish I had some of those golden oldies back in my barn right now.[unimpressed]

My FLy’s are in the mail ma’am.
They were tied by a guy from Seattle. A WWII vet named Carl Phillips.
He tied under the name CCP.
His German Shorthair named Fritz was his main source of Tying material.
I never had such a good time as when we went after Phesants with ol’ Fritz.
Him and Carl were both so old and out of shape that a 10 minute hunt was about all they could do.
Fritz would come back and lay down, carl had a portable stool. We’d take a break. Fritz would get up and away we’d go again.
Such great times. Plenty of Birds in the Sage brush. Carl told me Fritz would hold a bird for me until I went back to the truck for my gun.

But if I missed! Whoo boy, Fritz could give me a look. Bad look too. No question about what he was saying to me about my shooting.

Carl, Fritz and those public hunting lands are all gone now.

He used the Phesant Rump to make a bug that hatched in the Stumps in cold water lakes. You have one now.
Stumpty Sal, he called it. Great fly. You couldnt drag it by a stump without hooking a fish.

Ahhh, carry me back…

Dryrod …be careful buddy.. you are showing your age… I remember when and automatic was pushing a button in on the dashboard…lol…

?? ground affects.. just another way to have the dealership charge you extra mone.. but.. on my explorer sport a few years back.. it was a great way to get high enough to wash the top of it properly…lol…

Boy, Push button Dodge automatic. I remember that all to clearly. Mom had to buy a car to replace the old rusted out buick to haul us kids and a trailer from NH to AZ to where Dad was. Neither the buick or the Dodge could haul the trailer though. Half emptied the trailer. We got to go with the Dodge. Spent about two weeks in it travelling across the USA.
**
*My father never stopped bitching about that Dodge up to when he died. Never got over leaving the tools in NH either. *

Did not comprehend the treasures we were leaving behind. Hand made furniture made by a master carpenter, my great grand father, who worked for the founder of International Harvester. Those were sold to buy the push button Dodge. Several of the structures built by my GGF now have historical markers on them.

We have stolen this thread quite nicely.

[;)]**When I graduated from college my Dad gave me the family car. A 1936 Dodge. Who would dare give their kid a car today that was a few decades old. Now its a new Beamer or the kids will throw a fit. By the way that 36 was built like a tank. Drive by shooters today would get hit by the ricochet off that 36. LOL **
**Hell yes I know that I’m over the hill but its coasting from here on in. **

Not sure the year.. but do know it was a dodge.. my best friend in scouts dad owned one.. I remember him showing my dad the new fangled way to change gears.. LOL… I just sat there watching not knowing what I was actually seeing… but in todays world… well..if it aint automatic .. it dont get driven.. unless of course it is one of those loud (old glass packed) little cars the kids drive.. weaving in and out of traffic at 90 miles an hour…on the darn cell phone.. thinking they cannot get hurt…

now… back to the flyswap you all are working on…lol
