im plannin a weekend trip down to fish lake for the first time sometime soon (not sure when) and was wondering how it was doing and kinda a general idea of what to use for the perch, splake, and macs?
I went down on Marin Luther Day with about 8 people on the south end of the lake we were in about 90 feet of water plenty deep but in was cold and didn’t want to move. we caught mostly splake on white iceflys and light and pink colored jig tipped with meal and wax worms. My father in law caught perch closer to shore in about 50ft of water with ice flys as well the whole group of us only caught 3 lake trout but they were fat and healthy. other than the snowy drive down and some snow flurrys on the lake it was great i want to go back some time in Feb. hope this helps a little. ice was pleanty thick with 2 to 3 inches of snow when i was there.
My wife and I were down there Jan 16th and had a very productive day. We were north of the lodge a ways in about 24 feet of water at the edge of the weed bed. We caught a bunch of splake and a few rainbows. We also got two limits of perch. The perch went up to 9 inches. It was a late night fileting all of the perch.
