Eskimo quickfish 6

A few weeks ago I bought an eskimo quickfish 6 from sportsman warehouse. I have always used the sled mounted kind before such as the 2 man Frabil and the 2 man Eskimo. I got the chance to use my new quickfish tent a few days ago. I love it it is awesome. It only weighs 38 pounds and it was easy to backpack out on the ice. Who ever invented that style is a genius. I love the way they just pop out. And boy are they roomy. I recommend these types of shelters to any one who loves to ice fish. I am curious to know how the other brands do that are of the same pop up style. I would imagine that they all work pretty well.

I bought a QuickFish 3 this year and also love it. I was really torn between that and a QuickFlip 3, but I could not get over the heavy weight of the QuickFlip.

i was lucky enough to have blonde santa bring me a quick fish also. after 14 plus years on the ice i must say i could get used to it. very simple to set up light weight and roomy. i have looked at them for a long time and think its the best i have seen so far

**I bought a quickfish 6 as well; I wish I would have had **it years ago. A great tent…

To me, light it good. I had a tent with a floor (frabil).
The quickfish 6 is hard to beat.

Purchased a QF3 friday used on the berry sat, I to have fell in love with it over my sled shelters,I guess the only thing i am worried is how they stand up in a stiff wind.I am going to get a at least one more, the QF3 is perfect for two guys and four holes with all the gear inside.

My QF3 came with 8 ice screws.
4 hold the tent on the bottom and 4 are for the sides.
I have used the side screws and rope only twice and they did a great job of holding the tent in place in some gusty winds.

I have a friend that got a QF3 last year and it only had 4 ice screws with it.
He had to buy 4 more for the side walls.
You will want to have 8 screws when fishing in wind.

Thanks, DKS

I didnt put in any of the stakes yesterday cause there was no wind until we left at 12pm.Just wondering how they stand up to winds like up at Fishlake that can take your shack across the lake if your not sitting in it.The screws look like they will do a good job holding it in place though.Going to Fishlake soon so if its windy I will answer my own question![sly]

I got the Clam corp. 6 man command post for christmas.(it looks the same as the eskimo but is blue) I love it!! I had a quickfish 3 but felt cramped with 2 guys fishing 2 poles each. It has twice as much space as the 3 man but feels even bigger. I can spread out ALL my crap in it and still have plenty of room for a couple other fishermen.

As far as wind, I just try to set it up paralell with the direction the wind is blowing and anchor the sides and bottom good. If you don’t trust the spikes in a heavy wind, I have tied a rope around the center of an 18" 2X2 and poked it through a hole in the ice so that the board lays flat under the the ice and the rope comes through the hole. this does not budge! and if the ice is not too thick, you can usually recover the 2X2 when you are done.

I fished today in 10 to 15 mph winds, gusts up to 20 the ice stakes kept my tent in place. But one real hard wind gust collapsed one of the sides and popped out one of the rods inside. Screwing a stake a few feet from the tent and strapping it to the pull handle with the included shoe strings kept it nice and sturdy

I bought a quickfish 6 last year and I LOVE it. I actually left it up at the Sulfur Creek Derby last year overnight of course I tied it down but it worked great. Usually I dont even have to stake it down but aometimes it is required. As for the space and ability to stand up in it etc it is by far the best shelter out there in my opinion.
