Hey I was wondering if anyone could tell me how expensive the new eskimo quickflip 6 man ice tent works . When I take the wife and kids my eskimo quick flip II is just to small.
I was wondering how hard they are to put up and take down when It is windy thanks and good luck fishing
how expensive the new eskimo quickflip 6 man ice tent works .
how expensive it works?..
lol
well my quick fish 3 works very expensiveley.. it charges 30 bucks ph hour.. lmbo..
as long as you leve the spikes in the cornors and pop it down it is not bad taking it down in the wind.. now putting it up is about the same.. put the spikes in first then pop the sides and top.. it’s not bad at all..
i’m not suer how expensive the 6 man is . the quickfish 3 is arond 185.00 buck’s..
the quickflips are a lot more expencive and dont seem to do as well in the wind!

Now that’s funny right there.
I just sold my QuickFlip II Friday morning and went to Sportsman’s Warehouse and bought the QuickFish 3. It cost $189.99 plus tax. I have not used it on the ice yet but set it up in the living room yesterday. It will fish two people very well; better than the QuickFlip II. It would hold two adults and two or three toddlers without too much strain. You could fish a hole at each corner without any major problems.
I friend bought a QuickFish 6 and we had 3 adults and 3 kids in it. It was crowded. Four people would have been ideal.
Setup and takedown in the wind should always be anchors first on setup before pop-out, and anchors last on takedown after pop-in. Again, I haven’t used it yet but don’t expect any major problems in breezy conditions.
thanks guys for the infomation. I think I will have to think about it for a while and see if I can get a new one next year or find a good used one sometime. thanks trfishin

I have an Ice Cube that is supposed to be good for four people, but in reality two can fish in it comfortably.
I just ordered the Eskimo 6 man unit. I kind of expect it to do three or four adults comfortably. I imagine it should set up as easy as the ice cube. Paid $370 for the six man and that included shipping. Should be here any day.
Just out of curiosity the QF6 id suppose to hold 6 people so in theory you would need to drill 6 holes for each person… Do people really drill 6 holes to fish inside of there ???
wife and i just sold our eskimo 3 w/bench seat and sled and bought the last eskimo q3 at sportsman and used it today at the berry , slush and 4wheelers dont mix but we did fine set the tent up in a matter of seconds anchored it down and settled in wind was crazy out but the tent didnt budge fishing sucked but beer and cards was a good time, we are glad we bought the eq3 but was talking and now thinking of selling the eq3 to buy the eq6 just for the room
i have yet to see a quickfish go sliding acrosst a lake with no snow on it with the wind blowing at say 30 or 40 mph.. i have however seen 3 or 4 quickflips go for rides!! so that is telling me they dont do as well in the wind!
hey thanks for the info guys. It’s nice to hear from other anglers that have one if they are good or bad. I have an eskimo quickflip II with the bench seat and sled under it. I really like it but took the bench seat and back rest out and put to boat seats in it. I like it but it’s only good for 2 people and is a little heavy.
I put 2 eye bolts in the back of the sled and tie it down with an anchor I drop down a hole on each side and it will sit there in 30-40mph wind with no problems, but without anchoring it down it will take off just like anyother ice shack or tent.
Thanks again for the info. I think I will see if someone wants to get rid of one sometime when they update to another one or get a new one next winter. If I try to go and buy a brand new one right now my wife will start kicking me and I don’t have a high pitch voice now and don’t want one either.

Wow… In the 6 years I’ve had my quickflip II, I’ve yet to tie it down a single time, and its never moved once even in higher winds.
I have a Quick Flip 2 and I have had the wind move it recently . I bought some tie down stakes from Eskimo , but I can’t see any place to tie them on to my shanty . I could tie them to the sled but it seems like there should be some tie down loops in the upper corners of the shanty . Curt G.
4 comfortably ? Our problem is that we probably bring to much junk with us and forget that we are out to fish. I have come to reason that I like to fish in mine alone along with all the junk I bring, sometimes even 2 of us I I feel cramed.
yeah i could see that. i actually bought a smaller tackle box so i don’t have to haul all my trolling and casting gear on the ice not to mention the monster box it’s all stored in. it probably helps that we’re too poor for a fish finder so that frees up some room as well. other than that we usually just keep the drinks and munchies on a sled right out the door.
I have a QF3 and a buddy has the QF6. Just like the dome camping tents, 1-2 people less than recommended is just right. Of course that also takes into account our gear / junk. We usually drill 4 holes for 2 people in the QF3 and have drilled as many as 6 holes for the QF6.
