Deadly fly! And there are variation. Glass beads, white beats, white wire, gold beads and wires…etc.
I have used that pattern successfully when other midges bombed out.
A little variation which I call a blood midge. Haven’t tried it out yet but from experience a little bit of red tends to excite.

I tied it a bit of red Danville 300 denier
