I want to go to Yuba to catch walleye and if not pike any advice? Or reports?
We went down and tried for Pike last Friday. Nada for us. Carp are in the shallows in droves, caught a few of them to ward off the skunk. Was a nice day. Water is still really low. Nobody we saw or talked to did better than us. Although a couple folks said they caught the new state record Pike down there recently.
Yuba is a hard place to fish, i went 7 times and caught 1 pike and 1 walleye and a lot of carp. Not that impressed with it.
To catch fish at Yuba you got to find structure period but you might get lucky with a straggler. Pike are mostly going to feed on carp so any carp imitation lure might work. They have been catching walleye and pike by the Oasis rock wall last few weeks. I am going there Sunday to see how much water has come up. Once the dam area goes under water it’s a great spot fit both walleye and pike from the shoreline.
