I have read the recent reports and have a map of Yuba hanging on my cubicle wall so I can study it while appearing to work. Anyone have some last minute tips for me?
We are fishing for walleye, but would love to target pike as well if someone has a clue how to actually target them there. It seems that many people get pike accidentally. Anyway, would love some help.
Well, you must have accumulated a lot of knowledge about Yuba when you fake-work like that!![]()
There probably aren’t as many pike as 'eyes at Yuba so they aren’t caught as often. I would just use the traditional pike lures and techniques around the traditional pike structure and walleye structure. It is probably more of fishing specifically for them than actually developing any strategy. It wouldn’t surprise me if you hook a few this way.
Jig right of the points and the rockpile give that a try it usually holds fish. Also try the bays the water in there is usually warmer and holds a lot of perch when the temps are right. Walleye will be right on the edges of those bays i have caught many in those spots. Or bottom bounce all day .
