yuba perch

 we hit yuba today. fidhing by 9:30 we walked across from painted rock boat ramp to west side and then north some. Fished in about 20 feet of water. When the fish came thru we seemed to get atleast one. They were really nice. Several that are 9 inches around the middle. The biggest one was 12". Left about 1:30. There was three of us fishing and we caught 16. The ice is about 7" to 5" thick depending where we checked. Some wind but not bad for Yuba. Think we’ll make some of Tubdudes chowder for dinner tomorrow. I"ll post pictures but be warned, they are big, I can’t seem to resize them.

Fatty Perch

that’s what we are looking for tomorrow. nice fatties and lots of them. headed to yuba in the morning, first timer for yuba for me. thanks for sharing. :sunglasses:

Nice pictures, what did you get them on???

I am probably headed out there tomorrow morning too depending how my herniated disc feels in the morning. I have only my hand auger and my son to help me work it. [:p] Those are some good looking perch thats the second good report of yuba perch thats a good sign.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

as for what we were catching them on, it seemed that they would hit about anything as long as you kept the lure twitching when the fish came through. We used frosties with a wax worm, a small white tube gig with a nightcrawler, a heli with a wax worm. Glow and green seemed to be good. The biggest thing was to twitch the lure when you would see possible fish on the sonar. All the fish were on the bottom. Good luck.
