Willard ... 5-30-08

Well, it was Friday, the weather was nice, and we have had a consistently rising pressure. So the right thing to do was to go fishing and invite somebody. So, I invited a coworker (Bobby Moon) and his dad (Bob Moon) to join me for an evening of fishing Willard Bay. Neither of them had experienced wiper fishing so that was our target.

We launched around 5:30 PM and fished for about 3 hours. We only boated five fish and we lost a few very strong bites. We caught all of our fish south-west of the island. There was one hole there that we would get either a fish or a bite every time we went over it.

It was one of my better fishing days so far this year.

The first walleye was kind of small:

But the second one was decent:

A 21 inch wiper:

Another nice wiper:

But son isn’t to be outdone by dad:

The cleaning station is now open but the lights don’t work. So we had to use a flashlight. But that beats having to do the dirty work at home.

The bugs are starting to get BAD so get yourself mentaly prepared if you plan to fish willard.
