Hey all Wasatch801 and I are headed for Quaicreek/Handhollow in two weeks and have not decided where to stay. Having never been to either I just have no clue, weather we should camp or just get a hotel. Do any of you with a knowledge of this area have any ideas, and or suggestions.
This time of year is one of the most difficult times to try to get a room. I would try to reserve a campground at quail, sand hollow has the sand dunes and tends to attract more waverunners, atvs, and people in general. You can get to sand hollow in 10-15 minutes from quail (thats boat ramp to boat ramp.) Both lakes are about 30 minutes from my house so if you stay in St. george plan on about a 25-30 minute trip to the lake. I fished Sand hollow 2 weeks ago not having any luck so we went to quail and caught some rainbows. I have seen more people fishing for bass, I’m still learning. I’ll be going to quail a couple times this week and I will post an update
Thanks for the heads up. And i do look forward to your reports. If you are out on the weekend we are there feel free to motor up and say hi. I will be in an ODC 420 float tube and Wasatch will be on his Fishcat toone. We are always happy to meet other BFT’s
It’s like spring break down there with the high school kids taking over the place. Its a ritual thing. Sorry but it sounds like you’ll have to pitch a tent but hey I love camping and roughing it…
(For the ladies… they will just have to do without the bidet… Just kidding…) -slapping across face noise… from my wife “ouch sorry… just kidding just kidding!”
That’s just how St. George is, starting in March it gets crazy with all the sports competitions, excellent fishing, and Zions. Start booking as far in advance as possible. Worst case scenario get a hotel room in Cedar City.
