What's not to like about Strawberry?

I invited my brother to come down from Idaho and see what real fishin’ is all about.

We hit the berry around 1:30 today (Saturday, 18 Oct 2008) and caught our first couple fish just out about 100 yards from the marina.

His second fish was a 24" cut that weighed in around 5 lbs. Fat fish !!

Anyway, we fished all over the place trying vertical Jigging with tubes and chub meat and had our best success trolling between that little Island just north of Renegade and trolling north about a mile. There were fish on my fish finder all the time and we caught a bunch.

My brother caught 10 and I caught 4. I’m ticked at him…

Anyway, we had a great time. Perfect way to spend time with a sibling :sunglasses:

Our fish averaged around 18" but 2 of his were 24"

Another wonderful day at the berry..

By the way, I did better yesterday. I caught 9. One of them was 24" and I have attached a picture of it.

Sounds like you 2 had a great day together. Its good to see more 24 inchers coming out of there. What lures did you troll ?

Good on ya you cut master!!! That was a fun trip. I am glad you got into them again. I posted a report of our trip!

We were trolling with white tube jigs with some chub meat on them. I think that’s the only thing we caught fish with. We spent some time vertical jigging, and some time trolling. We caught most of the fish trolling, but caught the biggest ones just vertical jigging around 20-30 feet deep.

Thanks for the info i am probably heading up there this saturday. I need to get me some chub meat before i go seems like thats the ticket for tipping lures thanks.
