I decided that I couldn’t let a perfect fall day go to waste so I hit Utah lake to see if I could find any hungry white bass. I didn’t know what to expect because I usually stop fishing for white bass in the summer.
I took my favorite fishing buddy along and we managed to find a school of white bass after about an hour or so. I was catching fish about every 5 or 6 minutes and probably managed to pull in between 8-10 fish before my buddy started to fall asleep and it was time to go.

Those are some nice whities. May I ask what you were using to catch said fish?
I was using a green swirl tail grub with a 1/4 oz jig head. I didn’t tip it with anything. I was just south of the provo marina fishing on the edges of the reeds. I tried several places and then finally found a spot where they seemed to be hanging out. When I found them it was actually a little better than I thought it would be. And they all seemed to be fairly good sized fish.

Yes kids can only take so muuch, but they still have fun. I put my kids out in float tubes and I find they last a little longer than they used to especially if they are on shore. My oldest is asking me to take him ice fishing this year. He is 9, so we will see how long he lasts at that.
