My dog wanted to go for a ride, so we went down to Lincoln Beach to check out the ice. About twenty feet of open water in front of the beach and all of the ice is gray and slushy looking. I drove my truck down the boat ramp and busted the ice out to where my bumper was going under.Big open water spot where beer creek comes in.(Benjamin slough)
Around by the “L” there is some small patches of open water and a fairly large area of open water at the warm springs and in front of the parking area east of the orchards.
Big cracks all over. I can hear the Walleye getting all hot and ready.

Thats what I like to hear… I will have to go down tommorow and send the ice my get lost chants..
I fished out in front of the first spring last saturday, far less water out in front of the spring than I expected and still 11 inches of ice. No water where I got on the ice on the north side of the north dike either. Caught 30+ bluegill, a few crappie, and a small june sucker. Dispite the 11 inches of ice I also think it won’t be but a week or two til ice fishings done out there, the bottom 4 inches was getting soft where I drilled.
