Hit Lincoln beach from 10:30 - 2:30. Unbelievable calm, glassy water, great weather, the makings of a great day.
. I saw tons of fish in my finder - probably carp. I first fished the ramp for a few minutes since TD did well there last week. Nada. Going out of the marina, I marked 5 fish but no schools. Once I hit the buoys, I saw a bunch of them, schools, probably carp.
I started to get concerned, an hour into it and no fish. I trolled, jigged, bait fished, spinners, couldn’t get anything to hit. Kept on thinking about moving to the Knolls but wanted to find a new, good place to take my family later on. I fished north of the peninsula. Then a far off, I saw 8 boats all congregated in the same area northwest of the marina so I headed off there - do as the romans do. Maybe its hot.
Fished there for a while, seen a few get caught. Turned out to be 8 asian boats. No luck. I headed for the weeds, hoping to get crappie or ??? Zilch! This trip really was to get my cats before the end of the year since I wasted so much time on wipers.
It was pretty warm but back to the marina. I had 1 4" whitie to keep the skunk off me.
Won’t go back there again. I had 2 fruitless trips this year at Lincoln. 2 other boats didn’t do squat either. Nice day though. Beats sitting home.
I better stick with bubble up.
I may resort to trout fishing at strawberry this weekend. Its been several years since I caught any.
