Utah lake 10-10

Fished UL Lincoln beach with crossineyes. we arrived at about 7:00 am, high winds overcast. we fished in the marina for a few hours and caught 1 largemouth and 1 whitebass. the wind died down about 9:00 am, so we launched the boat. the water temp was 56
pretty much the whole day. fished pretty much the whole area from the hot spring to the west point. hook a great big carp so we took him and headed out the the island for some catfishing . no deal, nothing biting out there either. overall, a pretty slow day, one good thing, and one bad thing. good, the first time I’ve fished lincoln beach and not one jig was lost. bad, I lost my anchor in the rocks, that sucked, had to cut the rope, guess I’ll be asking santa for a new anchor this year. later chuck

:sunglasses:Wow, sorry I missed all that fun.

I would guess that the strong northwest wind the night before did its usual number on Lincoln Beach. I have never done well there right after a big blow. The water clarity drops below what I prefer for throwing plastics and the fish are not as active.

Too bad about your anchor. Those rocks eat everything they can get ahold of.

Were you able to find much on sonar in the deeper water? The last time I was down there we saw lots of suspended fish in 10-12 feet of water, and some on the bottom from 8 feet and deeper. But, the water was murky then too and we only dinged a couple of small whities on worm-tipped jigs.

Yae, I’ve never done any good after a big wind either down there.
utah lake has claimed 3 anchors of myne so far. we seen fish threw out the water column, no certain depth. we seen a couple of good ones out at the island but no takers.

this is for you duck hunters, there was a good flock of geese and some big ducks on the island. later chuck

Chuck, I have an anchor for sale on the “For Sale in Utah” forum. For you I would discount the price another $5.00. Let me know if interested.

Kent, thanks for the offer but that one is a little too big for my storage compartment. I like the little Navy style 25 pounder anchor, they really bite in and hold good in the wind. later chuck
