Fished UL for about 8 hours yesterday at the Bubble Up, Lindon Harbor, AF harbor, Battle Creek and AF Creek. Caught 6 channels from 2-5lbs, 5 bullheads and 1 whitebass. Most were caught at the bubble up on white bass meat and the white bass on a spinner. Also caught two channel cats in AF Harbor on a spinner and a rat-l-trap. AF Harbor and bubble is where all fish were caught. Couldn’t find any white bass though. Water temps 65 to 69 in the harbors.
Glad ya found a few kitties..I am surprised given the area you fished that you didnt bump into a horde of whities just by accident…Has been a strange year. Thanks for posting

You’re telling me…we stopped fishing for cats because we ran out of white bass meat and we couldn’t find any more.
I was out at UL last Saturday looking for whities. I searched all my usual places and found them tucked way back into an area where the reeds where cut off just above the water in about 3’. There were two pockets about the size of a desk that we pulled around 50-60 white bass out of. We couldn’t find anything to the left or to the right, just in those two little pockets in that one little spot. Very strange.
The only reason we found them is because my sister casted way too far in the reeds with a floating crankbait and it got hit immediately. I’ve always been able to find them in huge schools this time of year, maybe my timing is off. The males were…excited, the females didn’t look like they were ready to spawn after filleting a few. From previous years the eggs were a lot bigger when they were spawning.
