well, i am starting to think that during the winter that place a just a water filled sh*t hole! Fished for a 3 or 4 hours drilled over 30 holes and i could not buy a single bite at Provo harbor. then i decided to try a totally different area and went to Lindon harbor. ice was scary as hell at first, all broken up from someone launching a boat lots of open water out of the harbor. i stayed in got the guts to step on the ice and it was 4 or 5 inches of good clear ice edges were crap for the first foot or 2. still NOTHING… used small ice flys, gitzits, sonars, gulp minnows…i don’t know if I’m doing something wrong or Utah lake just hates me!
It can be tough in the winter. I fished it Friday the 30th and managed 8 fish in almost 5 hours, fished the same spot on the 2nd and managed 42 fish in 2 hours. When they move in it can be fast fishing, when they arent in in can seem that there isnt a single fish in the lake.
