UL 11-24-11

Hit the Lincoln Beach area this morning. Found a bunch of blue gills and 1 perch that wanted to play. It was non stop for these little panners, but I had to pack up to get to dinner. Really, catching all these fish took me by surprise given the time of year, but the way the weather has been, I made it a point to get out there before the storms blow in this weekend. Really my insatiable need to pursue walleye is what really got me out there, but my heck those things are temperamental!

Wow that is a great sized gill. It almost looks like mantua, are you sure that was UL? Just kidding. BTW was it windy out there today?

Anyway I have yet to catch a perch at UL. This ice season I hope to change that!

Damn dude, nice gill!
were you fishing right in the reeds!

No wind at all. It was pretty weird to see the lake so calm and glass like.

I didn’t catch anything along the reed line believe it or not. I was pitching for LMBs at the reed lines for a while but those gills kept biting so frequently i could only run one pole.

. . . Really my insatiable need to pursue walleye is what really got me out there, but my heck those things are temperamental!

So where is this year’s big Walleye fall bite I hear about? Did I miss it, or hasn’t it happened yet?

Good work on the gills, sounds like some nice action.

That’s what I’m wondering too. I think it happened and even may still be going on but I think the walleye fisherman are pretty tight lipped about it. What we need to do is recruit some of the oriental guys that slay the walleye every year, those guys are good fisherman!

Those are pretty nice bluegills.. May I ask what they wanted to eat? I’ve basically never caught bluegill anywhere in the fall..

worms.
