Uinta trip

I just spent five days at hoop lake, The fishing was awsome, the weather was serene, it was totally great. We got up there late Fri. night, and set up camp. Got up early, and took the kids down to the lake, the only way to describe it is action packed! It was me and three kids. within half an hour I had given up on my own pole because I was so busy taking fish off for the kids. The fish were biting literally before the line would finish sinking. The fish weren’t very big, just planters. Within an hour the kids were tired of fishing and complaining thier arms hurt[;)]. I picked up my pole threw on my favorite spoon and started realing them in basically every cast. By 9am I was getting tired myself while the kids played in the mud. So I went back to bait fishing figuring it would slow down soon anyway, WRONG!! The fishing stayed strong all day until sunset, when I finally decided to call it a day. I spent most of the rest of the days hiking ect. with small trips to the lake. All in all, I personally caught at least 50 fish. All together I would say at least 150 fish were caught we ended up keeping apx 25 fish. Because they had swallowed the hook, and were not going to make it any way.

Sounds like a great trip. I hope my kids have half as much fun in the Uinta’s next week.

Nice report. I bet the kids had a blast! So they were all planter bows? Any brookies mixed in?
