I still find myself expecting to see pictures of him with his Modified Tube and a basket of Catfish of the day.
I miss Pat also, he always had a different way of looking at things. I miss his tackle advice and the items he made. Is anyone selling his tackle now or is it gone forever?
Yup I’m with you guys on that one… Do miss Pat’s being Pat… He’d be out on Willard chasing eyes by now for sure, but mostly just catching kitties as usual… Later J
PS… But he’d probably have a new model lure that was the best thing ever… I’d be begging for a few…
I thought of him on Saturday after working hard to find 3 cats on UL. He often caught them in good numbers at Willard when fishing open water pockets in his tube, when most of the lake was still iced over! I’m still glad to get any in cold water. He still inspires me to want to learn more!
He’s the reason I joined BFT. I fished with him often at Utah Lake.
I totally agree, I find myself thinking about him often.
He was a legend for sure and a very generous person with his knowledge, time, tips and fishing gear. I too miss his postings etc.
I had a couple of TubeDude moments this winter. I caught myself several times thinking I should reach out and ask Pat questions, about tackle, about where to find certain species, etc. Then remembered he is “gone fishing” and not available. Mixed emotions for sure.
The other moment is when I used the last of the small chub minnows he gave me. I always appreciated his generosity whether in word or deed.
Man, I miss that guy!
