Damn! So sad to hear of his passing. Had planned to meet up
With him for a visit in the new year. I met “Tube Dude” in 1979 when I was manager at Anglers Inn in Sandy. We became fast friends and had many great fishing adventures while he was in Utah , before his work exit to AZ. Reconnected on his return to Utah. We had a good Willard trip In the boat a couple years back, the last time we fished together. So many good times, I will smile every time I think of him. So generous with his time and information. Always a good laugh mixed in. He was truly one of a kind . He will be missed by many!
Rest in peace.

I will always be grateful for everything Pat taught me. Most importantly to be generous to others with information and helpfulness to my fellow angler and humans. I didn’t know him as long as many of the members on this board did but the short time I did have the opportunity to know him will always be cherished. RIP tubedude!!!
I’m going to miss talking with Pat , I always looked forward to seeing him at some of the BFT Events and just at the lake fishing. R.I.P. my friend .
So sorry to hear this. I don’t think I’ve ever known an individual as generous as Tubedude. He was always ready to give his vast knowledge of fishing tips and generous in giving fishing gear. Although I only fished with him one time but that was enough to make you feel like he was a lifelong friend. I always enjoyed reading his posts of his fishing trips and his videos. R.I.P.
I only knew Tubedude through his many posts with great pictures and information. I always was amazed by his willingness to impart his knowledge of fishing techniques, equipment, types of fish, fishing waters and descriptions through self generated fishing maps. So great of him to lend his knowledge and time to all us other fishermen.
I think he must have gotten a lot of joy out of seeing other fishermen have success and enjoy the sport!
So long Tubedude, rest in peace.
RIP, Pat.
I hope a tiny bit of your legacy will live on every time I’m out in the tube you sold me several years ago. It has treated me well and I hope to get a few more good years out of it. The tricked out components are one-of-a-kind.
My condolences to the family.
Thanks Kent
What a legend. I truly enjoyed Pat. He was a charecter for sure. He had a story or a saying for about anything. Rest in Peace Pat!
I have only met him a couple times, and both times I ended up with new treasures that he betrothed upon me. He was an encyclopedia on fishing.
Sad to lose such a sportsmen, RIP Pat
Pat is one of the Greats! Such a generous, kind and knowledgeable guy and his wit and humor was right up my alley. I will miss him. I don’t know if I dare use any of his fligs now for fear of losing them. I will miss Tubedude. Rest in Peace.
Rest in Peace Pat.
I always enjoyed our trips together even though you felt trapped in my boat. Haha.
Thank you for your knowledge and also for the trinkets you bestowed upon me!
I am truly heartbroken. Every time I sit at my table to tie a fly on your vise I think of you and your fun stories. Thank you Pat. Yes, I’m still experimenting with your suggestions. I will miss you.
I guess I’ve known this day would come when you sold all your gear, but didn’t make it any easier… Pat you were a great friend and mentor, really appreciated everything from tackle to recipes to your teachings… You were one of the greats and I was glad to have had the chance to know and learn from you… Guess it’s good to believe and know you move on to new adventures with TubeBabe there waiting for you to discover new waters… We’ll all miss you and BFT will hopefully have your knowledge and tips still recorded so we can reflect from time to time.. Thank you and rather than rest in peace I hope you can enjoy it to the fullest… Till we meet again my friend… Jeff
I’m grateful for all of the time (and patience) he spent on me. I know I wasn’t as good of a student as he was a teacher. I treasure my library of PDFs on topics from tackle to tactics. Truly one of the greatest, most generous fishermen I have ever known. I hope there is fishing in Heaven for guys like Pat!
Rest in peace Pat, truly one of a kind.
So sad to hear. I have good memories of the times I spent with him and Tubebabe. I was thinking about him yesterday while I was using one of the rods he built for me.
