I’d be happy to help out in any way that I can. I don’t have a boat but can cook or help out fishing on that Saturday. I’d like to attend the meetings and do what I can to help.
Thats great I can use your help, the meeting will not be until the gall from the VA hospital gets back in town the first week of April and will let you know what day and time…

Come on some of you trout fisherman out there I need your help with what works on trout…I’m just a dummy bass fisherman…
Chubs work great at the berry i am going to try and net some when scofield thaws out.
If you can net some for us…[;)]
I may have to start a new post for the names of those that have boats and helping with the different things…
As soon as e-lake and scofield thaw out i will go net red shiners and chubs.
I think that will work for me-count me in. I can take one maybe two in the boat, it’s an 18’ Tracker Targa and have all the gear they would need. How is everyone getting up there? I could only fit one in the truck if we are picking them up and taking them back as well. If we are going to be on the water by seven it would be better for me to go up the night before so I wouldn’t have to leave at 0100. I can bring the Camp Chef with a small grill and a coupla’ dutch ovens for cooking if we need. Sounds like good times.

The DAV’s will meet us up there that morning, as far as the cook out go we need to talk about it more at the meeting later…

Still no word back from the Heber Ranger District.
I talked with Adam Eakle (Roughin’ It Outdoors) and he is on board for covering this event for his show. He did mention that this particular date (August 15) is the general and CWMU opening of the archery season for deer and elk along with limited entry hunts for deer, elk, and pronghorn. This could cause some volunteer conflicts due to a lot of fishermen also bow hunt.
Since we are this early on getting this set up, maybe a change of date to the weekend before (August 8) would be in order. There is nothing on the DWR’s Wildlife Calendar for that weekend. August 22 would be a second choice, but the hunts would still be going on – just not as busy as the 15th.

We can talk about that at the meeting but I think we could change it…

Seems to me that all that is needed for fishing at the Berry are tube jigs, chub meat and some worms. Pretty simple stuff up there when the bite is on.
Some of the DAV’s may not be able to cast so they mite want to troll but we will try to cover all the bases..
hey bassrods, My wife and I would like to help. We don’t have a boat but would be more than willing to help out cooking or what ever we can do. If it’s on the 15th, we will be camping over at strawberry bay and would like to come help out. But any date will work for us.
I do have a nice zebco reel on an ugly stick thats like brand new that I’ll donate if you need it.

Emily is back so we can try to pick a date we can meet, she would like to make it on a saturday, the 18 and 25 is full for me…
Maybe we can try for May 2 for all that want to meet and help plan this out…
She wants me and anyone that is helping plan the DAV’s fishing day to talk and meet the staff at the VA hospital for those that can come out, that will be Wednesday the 15 at 11:00 or 11:30 I couldn’t write it down at the time she called, but It was one of those times…
And to try and pick a saturday so the most can be there… I will send out PM’s to the ones that have PM me and said they want to help…
