Strawberry Ice

Hey does anyone know what the ice conditions are Strawberry are? How is the fishing?
I might head up on Saturday or Saturday night and I live in Prove just wanted to know if the ice is worth the drive, and gas prices[:(]
thanks.

i wass there sunday and monday and on sunday the fishing was okay i ended up with7 slot cutts the biggest being 19 and 1 15 inch bow. yesterday went to the same area and only manged to have one big fish break me off and then no more bites the rest of the day. the ice was a good 25 to 30 inches thick that is solid in the cold morning hours but by the time i left at 1200 noon it was starting to get ssoft but still very managable. we fished just west of the strawberry marina boat ramp from 10 to 60 feet deep. all my fish caught on sunday were in 60 feet of water and supended 15 to 25 feet down. got em on 1/8 oz chartruesse tubies tipped with waxworms. this was my first trip here this winter. i dont know of any other place that was fishing well. ill be hitting it again this weekend if i here some better reports, ill prob just fish a different area. hope this helps

It does, thanks for the tips. Good luck this weekend if you go!

I was there last Saturday, It was slow for me I only caught 6 or so one 22 one nice bow. I like to fish shallow in the spring 10 or 15 ft. the only problem with the ice was its not easy to punch a hole, It seems like a morning thing.

is the pic ur bow, cause i think thats a cutty.

Went from the marina to Renegade today. Edges are solid and travel was good. Better on an ATV than on a snowmobile. Fishing was good for this time of the season.
Only one other group on the ice. It is like having your own private lake.

Fished the soldier creek side yesterday, Ice was about 16 inches. Caught 13 bows, none of good size and 10 cutts all in the slott.

Looks like a cutty to me! Last Wed the ice at the Ladders was 20" plus, good fishing too!

Sorry, I meant one 22 and one nice bow. the pic is a 21 in. cut I didn’t get a pic of the 22 a video of it going back, I ate the bow ..the only one I kept .

Good work, Dadbob. Glad to have a recent report on the ice conditions. Nice fish! Anyone been there Thurs or Fiday this week? Wondering if there is an update.

Drove past on the highway both Wednesday and Thursday and saw ice fisherman on the ice at the Ladders, and rigs parked at the Soldier Creek dam turnoff. Someone must still feel good about the ice up there.

The ice is ushualy good at the berry till after no one wants to ice fish any more because of spring I wana go a couple more times, some good conditions and beautiful.

Yeah, wanted to go today, but chicken out, cause I thought the wind would be blowing bad. When I was there last Saturday, you could have taken a 4wheeler anywhere. I was wondering if this was still the case.

Now I wish I would have gone. The wind wasn’t too bad down in Utah County today. I bet the wind at Strawberry was tolerable, especially in a tent. Hit a stream instead.
