I do not fish Strawberry much when the ice is off because I do not have a boat. I know a few places to fish from shore but not many. I am taking my bro-in-law and his kids to the berry on Friday/saturday and was hoping for any help that you might offer. (Places, best set-up ect.) We will many be fishing with minnows and some power putty for the less interested kiddies. Thanks in advance for the help. If you fell more comfortable sending a Pm please do.
Best advice I could give is to fish extemely early (at least a couple hours before daylight this time of year) or late in the day and/or fish early in the spring or in the fall. Fish can be caught anytime, but to catch quantity and quality from the shore at Strawberry following my suggestions will increase your odds.
Kent is right on with his suggestions. The Berry can be tough this time of year from shore. Early morning and late afternoons/early evenings are the best. Don’t be afaird to cast horizontal to the shore line. Will you be bait fishing? Or tossing plastics or hard baits?
Thanks for the info. We will be using minnows most of the time but I will throw what ever I have at them.
