Strawberry DAV event 2015

Yeah, they can smoke if they like, but no bananas on my boat.

I haven’t done this with the vets before so I’m just concerned with everything going as smoothly as possible, but I’m sure everything will work out OK. I’ll probably get up there at first light and dink around on my own for awhile. Should be a fun day.

I.m not having much luck getting the time off, I may have to use a dial a day. I will be there and can take two vets.

Another thing that’s on my mind is that I mostly launch alone, and that’s not a problem, but I have to tie up the boat at the dock, go park the truck and trailer, and come back to launch the boat. Will there be people at the ramp to park the rigs for us? I would think most of us will be bringing our boats alone.

There has been in the past, I even did it one year, you just have to let them know when you sign in and I’m sure someone will help you park your rig.

Wet1- Hey Todd, since this is the first time of having it this early, there could be a lot of just normal boaters that are there fishing as was mentioned, does the Land and Leisure guy you mentioned put up signs the week before, letting those that come up on a regular bases know there is going to be an event on the DAV date? Just curious.

Add me to the list.

I can take 2 vets.

My boat is stocked with enough gear to built a spaceship, so empty handed fisherman need not worry. I’ve got everything needed to fish.

I would prefer to troll.

We are up to 72 vets. Way to go team. Keep them coming!!!

20 ft Trophy Walk Around.

Trevor,
I have a conflict on Saturday the 11th so please take me off you boat list. It was looking like you had more Vets that boats. If that is the case I would be glad to take a Vet at another time. Let me know if that could work?
Regards,
Scott

Confirming for Saturday. I can’t wait. I haven’t been fishing much lately myself and this is a great excuse to spend the day.

So, do we have to wait until we arrive at Soldier Creek Marina before we get our “number”? I have a feeling the boat ramp is going to be a cluster around 630 so I’m going to be on the water well before sunrise, maybe scouting for some fish…
Also, what radio channel are people going to be using? I don’t have a nice marine radio, but I’m bringing my hand held hunting radios.

So, do we have to wait until we arrive at Soldier Creek Marina before we get our “number”? That is correct. There will be a table sent up that handles all the boat and truck registration, along with donuts and coffee. I have a feeling the boat ramp is going to be a cluster around 630 so I’m going to be on the water well before sunrise, maybe scouting for some fish…There will be plenty of volunteers to assist in launching and recovering your boat. I launch by myself every year without issue. Also, what radio channel are people going to be using? I don’t have a nice marine radio, but I’m bringing my hand held hunting radios. 16

EDIT: Using Channel 16.

HE SAID 16. Go re-read his post

Note, that two posts above yours he stated to use radio channel 16.

Well I just found out some of my students are testing for their next rank in Martial arts and I am obligated to be there instead of the DAV event. [:(][:(][:(]
