Starvation oooHH yeaaaa!!!!

Took my work break at Starvation today and I am glad I did. Although the rain and wind was always lingering I found a few openings in between each micro-storm. I fished from about 1 pm till about 5 pm Fishing started out slow and I was getting blown all over the lake. Finally it rained hard and then the calm came. So I took my butt out and fished hard!! I was bouncing all over Knights hollow till got a good bite and decided to throw some jigs. Bamm I hit a descent walleye on a jig. After trying jigs for a while I wasnt getting anymore bites so I switched back to bouncing. Good move for me. Using an orange blade on a spinner harness and a bottom bouncer I was able to first miss this dandy walleye and then she came back and smacked me again. YEA BABY it felt heavy as it stripped line out a couple times I was able to make out exactly what I had. She was a hog. I netted her and took a quick couple of pics and sent her back into the drink. I estimated it at about 7 1/2 pounds and a bit over 24 inches. The head on this beast was huge, what a gator. Seems like every time I get a little discouraged I keep persisting and end up fishing the tail end of a storm or something and whack a nice fish. I am going to keep up my FOD which also has a new definition " Fishing Obsessive Disorder" I dont think I will ever find a cure to this exciting disease. Anyways here are the pics. Once again I did not have anybody to take my pics so they might not do actual justice but they will give a good idea on the size of the fish.

Right on, what a toad. I am hoping to make it up there on sunday, weather permitting. I am hoping to have better luck this month than I did in May.

Great fish Kelly [;)]
Kind of like that bouncing huh. It’s allways been my bread & butter way of putting walleyes in the boat.
Once I get back from these tourneys I’m going to have to get my tail to Starvation for some “relaxing” fishing.
After driving 3600 milles, fishing 3 tournys in 3 different states I’m going to have a major case of jet lag :astonished:
Hope we can get together in Aug. my friend.

Talk about persistence paying off! Nice work man.

Nice eye, I hit willard, wish I would have been able to get to starvation. This weather has been killing me. I’m a bouncing freak as well. Caught two wipers yesterday at Willard, pretty slow bite.

ha ha thanks Rex or should I say puffy…lol. That is your name right? ha ha ha. Thanks for teaching me to bounce Roger it has been very productive for me. I cant wait to get in a boat that has a motor on it so then when I am getting a bite I dont have to fumble around with wind blowing the boat in the wrong direction. I also cant wait to get in a boat with someone who really knows how to navigate the bouncers through the hot walleye areas. hopefully all that tourney fishing wont burn you out too much, and you will still have the desire to go “fun” fishing with me later on this summer. LET ME KNOW.

Jekern:
I was out at Starvation today and I thought I would tell you that tomorrow the main boat ramp is closed and both camp grounds next to it for construction. I did see boats on the water today though, but they must have launched them off the shore somewhere. I put the drift boat on @ Knights Hollow, I am not sure if the ground is solid enough to not get stuck if you need to get out into deeper water. Wish I could tell ya where everybody else was putting their boats in.

BTW caught 2 walleye today using a sparkle gold blade harness off a bouncer. nothing huge just a couple torpedoes. If your in Knights hollow tomorrow come say hi you will know its me because of the drift boat and two dogs. I might be having a shore lunch also, walleye success pending. good luck

Also the weather man is f.o.s

Where is knights hollow? I saw a guy land two nice eyes by the state park..
