I am heading up to Starvation this weekend for my first time, and I was wondering if anyone has any info that could be useful. I won’t be on my pontoon boat, just fishing from the shore with my kids. Thanks!
I’ve done well fishing walleye and smallmouth from shore on the rocky point just south of the tunnel inlet. Indian Bay has good smallmouth fishing and Rabbit Gulch has good walleye fishing. You can drive to all those areas. Here is a map. good luck!http://www.rockymountainanglers.com/starvation-reservoir-map.htm
The walleye have been hanging pretty deep (25-50 ft.) the last 2 weekends. They will be tough to catch from shore right now. Throw some jigs or jig heads tipped with night crawlers along the brush and rocky points and you should be able to catch some small mouth. Perch are also just starting to bite good. Last weekend was pretty fair for all species, and it should just keep getting better.
