Smith and Moorehouse 7/7

So I took an Air Force cop buddy of mine out fishing to S/M. We tried the road side of the lake early in AM (6-7) and we sat there for awhile with no luck. We were scoping the other side of the lake that you have to hike to from the northern campground. We decided it was worth the trek and set off. About an hour later we made it to that side of the lake, not knowing there was an easy footpath from the campground. After setting up a small fire to keep the 'skeeters away (which by the way were very gnarly) we started casting. I got skunked on my fly reel, which I’m sure is due to user error I switched to bait pole with garlic power bait. After two hours we hauled in 17 trout, all 'bows. We kept 8 that were in the 14"-20" range. We were casting into the river runoff entering the lake and it seemed we couldn’t sit down without a fish on the line. Hopefully will be able to post some pics once my buddy sends me emails from his Iphone.

Please post some pics. I would love to see those 20 inchers.

I love Smith & Morehouse for nice evening fishing after work with one or two of my kids. In the Summer I can usually get home by 5, make the reservoir by 6 or 6:30 and fish until dark. We are usually home by 10:30 or so.

Usually nice fishing, but you can’t beat the scenery either. I hoep to see your pics soon.
