What is the best flavor of smelly jelly?
Flavor??? I’m gonna go with scent. Crawdad. Don’t know what it tastes like though. Maybe someone else will chime in with the details.

Anise, seems to work for trout. I was catching perch one after another. Decied to try some smelly jelly driped a few drops of Anise on my ice fly and I started catching trout…
Maybe there were passing through right at the same time I drop my line but they still ate my bait.
I like banana.
Though I haven’t tasted any of them on purpose, anything that has a smell has a taste or flavor, even if it doesn’t fit in with salty, sweet, bitter, sour, or umame, on the tongue.
When I do use scents, just like lures, I try to match the forage in the lake. I’ve NEVER had any luck with banana, strawberry, anise, or the like, but I’ve personally watched while people did, a lot…
So, I dunno what’s best, but I’d start with shrimp or krill, if I was looking for all purpose, or maybe crawdad.
I also prefer banana. I don’t know if it works better or worse than any of the others, but I do know that I still feel like eating lunch after smelling it all morning. Makes for a nice lip balm as well.[;)]

my top three are 1 rocky mountian tackle,skoke scent or as its called jarod juice,#2 pro cure carp spit,and #3 pro cure sweet corn,be carefulwith this suff you might for get and lick your fingers,smells like kettle corn[;)]
Anchovy is best on wheat bread with a touch of cinnamon. Crawdad is best on a ham sandwich.
