Slot Limits

Alan’s email makes a few things clear:

  1. sizes and health of cutts hasn’t dropped…they are remaining relatively constant.
  2. the limiting factor of fish sizes is harvest…if the slot limit were raised, fish sizes would go up.
  3. Alan’s estimates are based on numerous gill-netting samples taken in both spring and fall months…and cover a wide range of sites.
  4. Alan’s estimates–based on gill net data–is far more reliable and consistent than fishermen’s fishing results
  5. numbers of fish within the slot is NOT limiting the numbers of fish outside the slot
  6. numbers of chubs, although reduced, are NOT limiting the sizes or health of cutts

I guess that is why they get paid all that money right ?
They know a lot more about it than anyone else, Heck they went to school for it right?
I can make my books look and say whatever I want them to, but that doesn’t mean that is how it really is. ???[;)]
